The Pro Kabaddi League is back for its eleventh season in the year October 18, 2024.

The people in charge of the event, Mashale Sports, have recently publicly released all of the necessary information in regard to this highly anticipated season of kabaddi, and fans have been looking forward to the beginning of this entertaining-filled tournament.

This season, due to the pandemic, PKL, which has traditionally taken place in one city, came up with the three-destination format that will definitely give the league a new look.

Yet, the fans will still feel that indefinable something that made the event popular across the country. 

Of late, these franchises have been exposing themselves to the media and fans, thanks to the Pro Kabaddi League scheduled in 2024 at the following venues: 

In a departure from the traditional 12-destination format, this year’s PKL will be hosted across three cities: Hyderabad, Noida, and Pune.

The season will commence in Hyderabad on October 18, 2024 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.

The league will then shift to Noida, where the games will be held at the Noida Indoor Stadium as from November, 10th 2024.

 Hyderabad: From October 18, 2024 at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium 

 Noida: From November 10, 2024, onwards at Noida Indoor Stadium 

 Pune: Four years from now, starting December 3, 2024, the latest sports event will take place at Balewadi Badminton Stadium. 

The schedules for the play-offs and final match will be set later, and fans can look forward to exciting kabaddi matches in the season. 


PKL 2024 Auction Highlights 

But even before the actual PKL 2024 action gets started on the mat, there was a lot to like about the player auction.

The auction that took place in August in Mumbai witnessed some high bids by the franchises as they sought to acquire the talent.

All in all, eight players were sold for more than Rs 1 crore and the trends marked a new high in terms of franchise investments in the ISL. 

The most expensive buy in the auction went into Tamil Thalaivas, who bought star raider Sachin Tanwar for an astonishing Rs 2. 15 crore.

This was the most costly player that was to be bought in PKL to date, and Tanwar was that lucky boy.

The second highest bidding amount was of Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, who Haryana Steelers bought for Rs 2. 07 crore.

Many of the star trackers, such the Guman Singh, Pawan Sehrawat, Bharat, and Maninder Singh, also attracted relatively steep prices in the auction.

PKL 2024 is going to be an exciting season indeed, as a host of star players and teams compete fiercely with one another for the topmost position.

The revised format of having matches in just three cities has promised fans in these cities some high-intensity kabaddi action.

At the same time, millions of coverage homes in India will be facilitated by television and other streaming services.

League Commissioner Anupam Goswami said, “After completing a decade of ten successful seasons, PKL Season 11 will mark another milestone for the continued growth of the league.

This would further strengthen the growth of kabaddi in India and elsewhere around the world.”

As PKL 2024 kicks off, kabaddi lovers embark on a countdown to begin with yet another dazzling Kabaddi season.

Expect a whole lot of upsets, reversals, and moments etched in the memory as one cheers from the stands or the comfort of one’s house.
