Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024: Full Schedule

It is the first international hockey tournament to be played by the state, and the first Women’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 has been scheduled from November 11 to 20 in Rajgir, Bihar.

Salima Tete enjoys the positive aspect of leading the India women’s hockey team that lifted the title recently when the team wins back its title on home turf.

This year, some of the top teams are the silver medal holders from the Paris Olympics-China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand; therefore, it is going to be a thrillingly competitive tournament.

Squad for India and Leadership

Salima Tete, the newly appointed captain, will lead an experienced Indian side.

She would be accompanied by vice-captain Navneet Kaur and a team looking to make the domination continue.

That would be the first Asian competition for the Indian team under head coach Harendra Singh and injects further excitement in their performance.

Fixture and Key Matches

India will play against Malaysia on November 11.

Recent history has worked in favor of India, with India dominating the games against Malaysia in the past.

Then, India plays Korea on November 12 and Thailand on November 14, taking a break in between.

The all-important match against China, the silver medal winner of Paris, is scheduled for November 16 while the group stage ends with a Japan tie on November 17.

India has to win from six teams and will be in the top four for a chance at the semifinal contest scheduled on 19 November.
