Smaran Ravichandran (born 5 May 2003) is an Indian cricketer.
Smaran is a left handed batsman and bowls with a right-arm offbreak.
He is progressing rapidly in domestic cricket.
Smaran Ravichandran Young Career with Domestic Success
Smaran made his first-class debut for Karnataka against Madhya Pradesh at Indore in October 2024.
Form was dripping from his bat and he looked equally at home against seam and spinners, as his match-winning knocks proved time and again.
He first made heads turn in the semi-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy against Haryana, where he scored 76 runs off 94 balls and guided Karnataka to the finals.
Playing Style and Strengths
Smaran’s attacking yet sensible batting approach at the wicket has turned him into a main player for Karnataka.
His performance is what he does through the innings and accelerates it when needed.
I have always rated him a bit lower than he deserves as a bowler because he offers variety with his offbreaks but anyone you can call a batsman, a specialist can be called a batsman — you add a bowler to it who is getting someone out and that’s half the job done.
Future Prospects
Smaran is being tagged as a player to watch for the selectors as well as fans with his performances.
He has a good chance to become a regular in the Indian domestic circuit and to break into the national side potentially.
Smaran Ravichandran is one of the future stars who with some experience can prove to be a trump card for India in years to come.
