Mumbai, Jan 15 (PTI) Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube continues to be the talk of the town among cricket fans and experts.
Dube was a key member of India’s T20 World Cup-winning campaign last year, but he has been omitted from this latest squad ahead of the T20I series against England.
Former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra has expressed shock over the fact that Dube has also been dropped from the team. “What`s with this Shivam Dube?
He was a major part of the World Cup final and still he’s not in the squad. “I can’t explain why,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
Dube last played internationally during the ODI series against Sri Lanka in August 2024.
He has had injury problems but recently he has been playing well in domestic cricket.
In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Dube scored 151 runs in five innings with an average of 75.50 and a strike rate of 179.76.

Chopra stated that Dube’s performance cannot be ignored and questioned the panel’s decision not to pick him.
He is a part of the World Cup squad and if he was good enough then he should also be given a fair chance to prove himself again,” Chopra said.
Since then, the cricketing community debate whether Dube deserved a second chance to play for the Indian team in international cricket.
