India appeared almost untouchable as Bangladesh failed to make an impact at all during the second T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Nitish Kumar Reddy and Rinku Singh gave India the best of starts to chase the game as they combined to produce a 108-run stand that emerged in support to push out the shaky start India had begun.
“Reddy struck a stunning 74 off 34 balls, while Rinku Singh batted quickly to score 53 off 29 balls.”
Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first. Indian captain Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma at times were seen facing only a few balls at a stretch as Abhishek was run out for 16 off 7 balls due to a mix-up.
Samson scored 29 off 19 balls before becoming the eighth man. India’s top order could not make anything of this contest, but the remaining game went to Bangladesh through the sword of Reddy and Rinku.
Despite India presenting a relatively younger side-they did remarkably well: most of their regular stars were not available. Yadav, who featured in the first T20I, did well again as his 1/21 in four overs caught the eye of the selectors.
Bangladesh is still struggling for survival after their heavy defeat in the first T20I. India ensured it did not repeat in the second; the visitors got crushed by seven wickets in the first game also and today.
India would look to seal the series without much debate with this dominance, while Bangladesh would look to come back in the final.
