India U19 vs Japan U19: India Start Asia Cup 2024 campaign with impressive victory

India’s U19 cricket team is carrying good strength against Japan in their second game in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2024.

The Indian Colts were hoping to make amends after being washed away by 43 runs in their first match against Pakistan.

Japan had an abysmal day in the tropics against UAE, losing the game by a mammoth 273 runs in the first match.

Hence, this was either the time both sides would walk away triumphantly, or it was the end of it.

Toss and Early Momentum

The match began with a toss favoring Japan; they would take the crease first while trying to knock out India soon.

Openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi started aggressively, clocking 42 runs in four overs.

The match has been India-oriented since then, where the whole team seemed determined to counter Japan’s bowling at every moment, especially Kazuma Kato-Stafford, from whom one over cost the Japanese team 20 runs.

Skipper Mohamed Amaan took responsibility with his performance

Indian skipper Mohamed Amaan anchored the innings despite losing quick wickets in the middle overs.

He formed crucial partnerships with Andre Siddarth C and KP Karthikeya, ensuring the team capitalized on the solid start.

By the 30th, India had reached 185/3, with Amaan notching up a well-made half-century.

It continued its excellent work as Amaan and Karthikeya marched towards a 100-run stand. On the 45th over, the scoreboard read 287/4, with Amaan knocking on the doors of the century with a flourish.

Japan was struggling to contain the batters of India and was symptomatic of inexperience at this level.

Keep listening to the Indian Colts looking to post an imposing total for their first win of the tournament.
