Cricketer Virat Kohli set for Ranji Trophy return after 12 years.
Kohli is set to play for Delhi in their last group stage fixture against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on January 30.
Virat Kohli’s return to domestic cricket has been awaited a long after the star player struggled to get going in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy series and now that he has reached NCA, he has finally started training.
However, while there’s so much buzz for his return, it’s disappointing to know that fans probably won’t get to watch the match broadcast or live2.
Though there are no plans to broadcast the game presently, “last-minute arrangements” cannot be ruled out, said an official from the Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA).
The logistics to move a matching location and multi-camera setup, not to mention crew, would likely be complicated.
With no live broadcast as such, DDCA has opened free entry for spectators at the ground and that’s a chance for fans to see Kohli live in action.
Kohli was spotted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday for a training session and looked relaxed and eager to meet his fresh teammates.
Delhi will be putting in an extra effort when they face the Railways in their last league match of the Ranji Trophy.
Kohli, however, adds a certain shine to the matchup even if Delhi is technically 6th on the table and won’t make it through the group.
