Much-needed 2 Bronze medals on the 7th day of the Paris Paralympics 2024, India turned the corner in shooting as the game went into the eighth day.
With more medals hopes in the cards, India entered the eighth day of the 2024 Paris Paralympics events held in France.

Harvinder Singh, who created history by getting a gold medal in the Men’s single recurve archery, was scheduled to participate again in the mixed team recurve open along with Pooja.

Their next match was in the quarterfinals and they were expected to play with either the French or the Polish team.
Harvinder’s performance in the round of 16 once again proved him as one of the best Paralympic players in India.
There was every possibility to get an additional medal for him, and hence, everyone was keenly observing all his performances for the entire day.
It was very tight, as there were more games later in the evening; it could be the semifinal, bronze medal, or even the gold medal match.
Simran’s Sprint for Success

Another sure bet for a medal was Simran, India’s para-athlete who has excelled in para-athletics.
In the women’s 100m T12, she had the opportunity to participate in the semis in order to qualify for the finals with the intention of adding more medals to India’s tally.
The other main attraction of the day was her semifinal run, which was slated for the afternoon. Should she succeed then the final was due at 10. 47 pm.
Which, in a way, has made Simran a role model of Indian para-sports already, besides having an athletic build.
The T12 category is meant for the athletes with a visual impairment and her overall speed and talent have always been her secret weapon.

The eighth day of the online campaign in India began on a somewhat mixed note. In para shooting, Sidhartha Babu and Mona Agarwal participated in the mixed 50m rifle-prone SH1 qualification round for shooting.
However, none of these athletes could qualify to the final and Sidhartha stood at 23rd position and Mona at 30th position.
It was a dampening spirit for the shooting contingent; however, they performed as a team on Par with the expectations and compensation in a highly competitive sport.
The fourth one is ‘Harvinder and Pooja’s Medal Hunt in Archery.’
The evening approaching, the attention was again turned to Harvinder Singh and Pooja for Team mixed recurve categories.
They headed towards the Q-Finals, which were to be played at 6:30 PM IST, but the way towards another possible medal for Harvinder was full of suspense.
If it did, then the semifinals, the bronze medal match, and finally, the gold medal match should go on later in the night with fans fixated on the television sets.
India has always seen some spectacular performances from its archery team with this pair going to ensure that it was going to be the same.
