Warrican 5-fer Helps WI Register Test Win in Pakistan After 34 Years

Multan, 27 January 2025 – A remarkable five-wicket spell from Jomel Warrican in the second innings propelled the West Indies to their first-ever Test victory on Pakistan soil in 34 years.

West Indies had won the second and last match of the series at the Multan Cricket Ground1 by 120 runs.

The man of the match was Warrican’s brilliant bowling performance; he took 5 wickets for 27 runs (16 overs) causing a dramatic collapse of the Pakistani batting line-up. Pakistan were bowled out for 133 in just over an hour chasing 254.

It is also West Indies’ first victory in Pakistan since 1990.

With match figures of 9 for 70, the left-arm spinner was duly awarded the Player-of-the-Match award while the Player-of-the-Series award went to him for his 19 wickets overall in the series.

Warrican’s heroics, alongside collective effort from the team, ensured the two-match series was squared at 1-1. It is a landmark victory for West Indies cricket .
