Jason Sangha returned from injury after nearly a month away with a bang and played a key role in the Sydney Thunder reaching the BBL final.
Opening the innings with David Warner in the knockout final against Melbourne Stars, Sangha has had his fair share of injuries over the past few seasons.
It was not an easy day at the office for the 25-year old but he responded to the Thunder’s trust with an assured 30-run knock, propelling his side into the title-deciding summit clash against Hobart Hurricanes.
Jason Sangha who has been plagued by injuries (including a fractured collarbone in December 2022 and multiple bicep injuries this season), his performance was even more noteworthy!
Sangha’s story so far has reflected that, with early success as the youngest cricketer to land a NSW rookie contract at 16, along with captaincy of Australia at an Under-19 World Cup.
He has had ups and downs, but his gift and perseverance have kept him in the limelight
Ahead of the final, Sangha reflected on challenging seasons and the aid his teammates and fans have given him.
“Winning a trophy would mean a lot to this group and our fans, who have had to endure a couple of tough years,” Sangha said.
