Mr Gill’s decision to opt for the Ranji Trophy comes after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced new guidelines last month, stating that domestic cricket wil be mandatory for players to be eligible for selection in the national side.

Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Rohan Jaitley let it be known that Kohli will play in the Railways fixture, “Kohli spoke to me and confirmed his availability.
