Officials from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association UPCA confirmed the fitting on Wednesday, attributing it to Dubai had protracted monsoon.
The match will now take place in Lucknow’s Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium,’ the most celebrated stadium of UPT20 League events.
Reason for Venue Shift
The game was postponed with consideration of Mumbai’s ground conditions and weather predictions.
The ground crew at Wankhede Stadium, where the game was initially scheduled, would not have been able to prepare the pitches and outfield since Accuweather predicted rain would persist in Mumbai until early October.
However, Lucknow is a better choice for holding a match because it is anticipated to be sunny around this time.
“Due to an extended monsoon in Mumbai making it impossible for the pitch to be ready within a week, we are now conducting the Irani Cup match at Lucknow,” confirmed one official from UP Cricket Association.
The Irani Cup is a big-ticket event in Indian domestic cricket. If Baroda refuses to play, it would only be the second time that Ranji Trophy champions have refused to participate – Karnataka withdrew from their clash against the Rest of India game in 1989-90.
